The editors of this website asked local businesses for the essential recommendations for Williams Lake.
We asked them: “If you imagine that someone has come to you and they are on a totally tight time line, and asked you these questions, what would you tell them?”
1. Where should I eat that I should not miss in Williams Lake?
Answer:
Carmens Restaurant, Chicken Parmigiana with fettucini alfredo, located on Lakeview Crescent in the Overlander Hotel
A quick healthy over the counter meal at Bean Counter on 3rd Ave., attached to the library.
Red Dog Pub – very good pub food, even the best Macaroni and Cheese! – located on Dog Creek Road.
Trattoria Pasta Shoppe – excellent pasta – South 1st Avenue
2. If I only have time for one outdoor activity, what should I see or do in Williams Lake?
Answer:
Walk down in the river valley – take a friend and watch for wildlife
3. Is there a museum or cultural site that is a must-see to represent Williams Lake?
Answer:
The Stationhouse Gallery has artwork, local craftspeople showing their goods, and a terrific display of featured artists each month. Currently located at the bottom of Oliver Street, the main street through downtown.
The Museum of the Cariboo/Chilcotin has a well told story of the history of Williams Lake, along with its cowboy heritage. Located on North 4th Avenue.
Thanks to Marcia of the Overlander Hotel for the contribution.
