Juliet’s Cafe

Anyone out there like a nice home made meal? I know I sure do. When I first started going to University by my school there was this little Cafe on the corner called Juliet’s Café. I would always walk by and when I would look inside the place looked very cozy, it gave off this homey type vibe. One day I decided to go in and try it out for lunch with my friend.
You walk in and there is a nice fireplace, and there are these beautiful plants with long vines going down pillars. There is a big menu on a board and you have to order and pay before you get your meal. There was a really friendly gentleman serving us and taking our order. I got their Avocado and cream cheese sandwich. I then looked around and noticed that there were family photos all along the walls and the photos contained this one girl in particular in them. I asked the man who she was and he said “Well that is my daughter Juliet”. I then realized that this was a family run business. The waitress who brought us our food was his wife; she had a very pleasant smile and was lovely to speak to. When I got my sandwich I noticed that it was a fairly large sandwich for the price. When I tasted it, I went to my happy place in my head where I envision that cream cheese lady from the commercials. The bread was toasted and still warm, they had a perfect balance of cream cheese and avocado with a touch of pepper, and the crunch of the lettuce and cucumbers topped it all off. Since that day Juliet’s has become a regular place for me.
The best part about Juliet’s is they have only a breakfast and lunch menu because they are open 7AM until 4PM everyday except for Saturdays and Sundays when they open at 8AM, but they serve breakfast all day! If you are anything like me I crave breakfast food later on in the day sometimes and Juliet’s is my go to place. Their homemade eggs benedict is to die for with their delicious Hollandaise sauce, they also have three egg omelets with different fillings inside are so tasty and filling it is just mouth watering just to think about it. All their breakfasts besides a select few come with a side of potatoes that are seasoned to perfection. If you are a person who loves yogurt with granola and fresh fruit, Juliet’s has created their own homemade granola with seasonal fresh fruit that is served in this huge wine glass layered with vanilla yogurt.
They also are a Café so be sure to try their delicious beverages. My favourite place to get a London Fog is from Juliet’s because they put an equally balanced amount of Vanilla and milk with the Earl Grey tea. They have different types of tea, and coffee of course. If you are staying in for lunch they bring you your beverage in big mugs and no mug is the same. They are all different with different designs, again giving the place that homey feeling. Even their water cups are these small plastic cups that are in different colours.
You will not just fall in love with the food but the family that serves it and prepares it all really make you feel like you are part of their family. Every time I walk in now the owner knows me by name and calls me hunny. My favourite part is no matter what I eat there I always feel like I am eating a meal at home, and it is absolutely delectable.

I am a regular here. The warm goat cheese salad is terrific as is the French Toast.
